Red Lady Papaya is a dwarf variety, suited for growing in containers or in the ground.  Despite their compact size, they are known to be prolific producers of sweet, juicy papaya.

While Papaya love the warmth all year round, Red Lady is one of the most cold tolerant of the tropical papayas, which makes it suitable for the Northern NZ Climate or greenhouse growers.

Ideal conditions for Papaya include, free draining soil, sheltered, warm sunny position, lots of compost and manure and not too much water (particularly in the cooler months).
