Cherimoya EOS – Essence of Soursop (Rare & Limited Release)
Cherimoya EOS (Essence of Soursop) is a truly exceptional subtropical fruit tree prized for its rich, fragrant, dessert-quality fruit and its distinctive soursop-like notes. This special line produces large, green, heart-shaped fruit with luxuriously smooth, custard-like flesh and flavour tones of pineapple, vanilla, and a light tang reminiscent of soursop. It’s a variety chosen by collectors for its complexity, aroma, and sheer eating quality.
A vigorous grower, Cherimoya EOS thrives in warm, sheltered locations where it can enjoy long, settled heat. It performs beautifully in subtropical gardens and warm microclimates and can also be grown successfully in cooler regions when provided with protection from wind, frost, and temperature swings. Once established, it forms an attractive, lush tree with broad, tropical foliage and produces highly aromatic flowers that develop into some of the most unique fruit you’ll find in New Zealand gardens.
Cherimoyas are known for their adaptability and surprisingly good productivity when given the right environment of deep, free-draining soil, consistent moisture during the growing season, and good shelter. Hand-pollination can further increase fruit set, making it a rewarding plant for growers who enjoy hands-on cultivation.
For fruit enthusiasts, home orchard growers, and lovers of rare subtropicals, Cherimoya EOS offers something truly special: a hard-to-find cultivar with outstanding flavour and high collector value.
Bring a touch of the tropics to your garden and secure one while numbers last, this variety seldom becomes available.

Growing Tips
Sheltered Position: Plant in a warm, protected spot away from strong winds.
Heat-Loving: Choose a location with long, consistent warmth; north-facing is ideal.
Soil Requirements: Prefers deep, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter.
Moisture: Keep soil evenly moist during active growth, but avoid waterlogging.
Pollination: Hand-pollinating flowers increases fruit set and yields.
Frost: Young cherimoyas need frost protection; mature plants tolerate light chill with shelter.
Mulching: Apply mulch to retain moisture and maintain even soil temperature.
Care Instructions
Planting: Dig a wide hole and backfill with a mix of quality soil and compost. Ensure the root ball is level with the soil surface.
Watering: Water deeply after planting. Continue with regular watering through spring–summer, especially during dry spells.
Feeding: Apply a balanced fruit tree fertiliser in early spring and again in midsummer to support growth and fruiting.
Pruning: Lightly prune to maintain shape and encourage airflow. Remove crossing or weak branches.
Protection: Use frost cloth during cold snaps and provide wind shelter while the plant is young.
Container Growing: Can be grown in a large pot if given warmth, good drainage, and consistent feeding.
