This is a very pretty small tree, with cerise flowers followed by big oval fruit. The fruit is smooth-skinned, unlike the English quince, so is much easier to handle. Far too sour to eat raw, but they make wonderful jams, jellies and pickles. Easy to grow. Tolerant of cold, wind and most soil types.
